Bluehost Now Charges $4.95 for Domain Name Privacy Registration

We use Bluehost to host our websites. We used to love them, but they’ve changed their domain name privacy registration policy and so now we’re looking elsewhere to buy our domain names.
Bluehost used to charge $10 per domain name per year, which is a tad on the pricey side, but it came with free Domain Name Privacy Registration. (A lot of their competitors, like GoDaddy, for example, would charge an additional $8.99 per domain name per year, so overall, Bluehost was a great deal.)
Now, Bluehost is charging $4.95 per domain name per year to keep your personal information out of the WHOIS registry. With that move, they’ve lost our business because it really means a domain name now costs $14.95 per year.
Since Bluehost, HostMonster, and FastDomain are all operated by the same people, they’ve gone from offering free domain name privacy registration to charging $4.95 per domain name per year.
Although the primary domain on the hosting account is provided free of charge and is entitled to a free Domain Privacy, why would you want to pay for domain name privacy registration when you could go elsewhere?
Right now, the best deal we can find is from 1 and 1 Internet where you can get a .com domain name for $6.99 per year for the first year before it returns to the regular price of $8.99 per year. 1 and 1 currently offers free domain name privacy registration.
